Let Summer Begin

Issue: May 25, 2021

Shades of Green

Buds are becoming colorful blooms. The flock of Canada Goose that flew in this spring all have baby goslings floating with them now. The light shade of green in the trees around Wildwood has finally faded into a beautiful dark summer canopy. The lake water temps are just perfect for a day of kayaking and tubing behind a pontoon. It feels like summer has arrived and it couldn’t have found us a day too soon.

23rd Annual Historic Heritage Day

Memorial day weekend is the official kick-off for the summer season at Wildwood and how perfect that it coincides with the Annual Heritage day festival in Granville. All-day and evening on the 29th Granville will be bustling with a bluegrass festival, antique car and tractor show, artisan craft booths, a parade, I love Lucy museum tours, historic boat rides, magicians and so much more fun. This Saturday as well as every weekend during the summer Sutton’s General store in Granville also hosts a bluegrass concert that is broadcast live over the radio. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the original Grand Ol’ Opry.

(Wildwood is donating five percent (5%) of proceeds this day to Historic Granville, a not-for-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to preserving the history of our town.)

Celebrate Summer at Wildwood

If you haven’t already made holiday plans, we would love to share Wildwood with you, and there are still a few lodging options available. If you want to experience the quieter side of Wildwood and can slip away during the mid-week, we are in the final days of our mid-week flash sale where you can stay two nights and get one free (5/25 – 5/27 only). This special includes our Lodge, Village Cabins, Inn, and Airstreams only.

Come out and experience our Granville community for a day of historic fun. Spend some time playing on the water. Watch a sunset with us. Let’s celebrate the beginning of Summer together.
